LONDON - A 65-year-old man reportedly fought off a 7ft alligator after it attacked his pet pooch.
In the fight, dog owner David Grounds lost parts of two fingers after pulling the reptile’s jaws apart, and poking its eyes with his thumbs to make it release terrier Mandy.
He leapt into action after the beast tried dragging his pet into a pond.
“I ran straight through the bushes to her. I’d have never got over it if I hadn’t tried to get her free. I’d do it again,” the Sun quoted the civil engineer as saying.
Grounds, of Palm Beach, Florida, spent two days in hospital as a precaution while Mandy had a cut treated. The gator was later destroyed. (ANI)
